If you live in between train lines (ie Yorktown/Somers) or in the northeast corner (North Salem, Lewisboro) it gets a little long with the drive to the train station, but even in the furthest stretches of the county your door-to-door will never be more than maybe 1h30-1h45. Weehawken - family friendly, excellent commuter options (light rail, ferry, bus) and decent school district.
